Character Characteristics: the Astraia Blog
What can be said about Astraia, the main character of the hit game, Zakumba: Astraia, that hasn’t already been said? Probably a lot, since this game hasn’t been released yet, so my job becomes a whole lot easier. But, like, who IS she? What does she do? What incredibly plot-relevant stuff can I accidentally spoil before the game’s release? Well, dear reader, read on to find out!
Astraia Abena Nyaméama Yiadom is a girl of 12 who can be recognized solely from her signature twin pigtails and her overalls that are probably a size or two too big. Either that, or you can hear her coming from all the clanging junk (sorry, materials) she’s carrying around in her ludicrous amount of pockets.
When she isn’t scavenging for said materials (junk), she can be found tinkering with it to create some truly marvelous inventions (junk (okay, I’m kidding on this one)); inventions meant to innovate and help make the lives of the people around her better! Or meant to just fix some old vendor’s wobbly sign, which she’s often asked to do. Either or. But Astraia’s mechanical abilities are unmatched, even by many of the adults around her. She probably learned to walk so she could take apart machines faster. As such, her services are often requested around the city by the locals, earning her a grand reputation among the adults.
Her peers, though, are a different story entirely. The other kids also see her as annoying, awkward, clingy, and any other negative adjective one can think of, and don’t particularly enjoy digging through piles of trash to build something with. But despite the intense scrutiny and bullying she faces, she retains her optimism, even if it’s only possible to hold onto for so long…
Also, Astraia licks rocks. Unfortunately, the item that uses the description that confirms this currently isn’t possible to acquire in-game. As such, you’ll just have to trust me.
…
Find out more about Astraia when YOU play the Vertical Slice demo, available to you on ?????????????
I can tell you when the next blog is coming out, though.
It’s next week. Probably. Surprise.
